Trailer Brake Actuating Systems

Atwood Hydraulic Actuator Service Kits

Atwood Hydraulic Surge Brakes add safety and convenience to trailer towing. Less complicated than other systems, the Atwood brake system provides such benefits as no "in car" hook up, no hand controls, and no special car to trailer wiring. We have a variety of replacement parts for your Atwood Brake Actuator to help get it running smoothly again.

Brake Controllers

Most states require that equip your trailer with brakes and brake controllers. When you press on the brake pedal in your vehicle, the brake controller lets the trailer's brake system know how much braking power is needed to safely stop the trailer. The Tekonsha P3 Electronic Brake Controller is a proportional brake controller that features an easy-to-read LCD screen. It has a "Boost" program that allows you to program it for different levels of customized braking. No matter what type of trailer you are towing, we have a brake controller tgo suit your needs.

Supplemental Brake Units

If you plan on towing a vehicle with your motorhome, you will need to install a supplemental brake unit. Supplemental brake units automatically increase or decrease breaking pressure in your towed vehicle. The units also feature emergency break away systems. The Roadmaster Even Brake System features a self-diagnostic program that continuously reports any braking activity, or a change in system status, to a three-tired wireless monitor in the motorhome.

Breakaway Systems

Whether you are transporting a small or large lead, a breakaway may be the scariest and most precarious potential hazard towing a trailer. Breakaway Systems are simple but necessary, as they apply electric brakes to towed vehicles the moment they become unhitched. Breakaway kits are reasonably priced, and they prevent costly accidents from occuring. If you need a replacement breakaway cable, we recommend the Progress Mfg Inc. 80-01-2140 FastWay Zip Breakaway Cable. It has a coiled design that won't drag while towing, and it stores neatly out of the way when not in use.
