The Triton 05613 Left or Right Hand Side Disc Brake Caliper fits the Triton 05603 Disc Brake Rotor. It is the old style (2001 & Prior) Triton Caliper for the old style Triton 7" disc brake rotor for Triton snowmobile and utility trailers. Be sure that you have the right size as the newer models now have a 10" disc and use different replacement part numbers. They can be found listed below in the "Customers Also Bought" section.

Part numbers 05613 and 05600 are interchangeable and can be used on the left or right side. The caliper has bleeder valves on the bottom and top.

"Why are my surge brakes locking up when I backup the trailer?"

If you are locking up the surge brakes on your trailer, you have a problem with what we call the free backing valve. When you back up, you compress the surge brake system, and the fluid pressure applies the brakes, not allowing you to backup and/or park. The free backing valve is energized when the vehicle is put in reverse and opens the fluid flow, thus relieving the pressure. No pressure means no brakes to stop you from going backward. The center pole of the 7 round plug is this wire that goes to the tow vehicle's reverse lights. Some vehicle manufactures have the wire active for reverse lights on trailers like campers and toy haulers.

If you have problems, please check the valve, the tow vehicle wiring and the wiring to the free backing valve to troubleshoot what is wrong. Make sure the vehicle's wire is activated and on.

On older trailers with a flat five plug, the 5th wire is for this free backing valve. A pigtail wire should be ran to the reverse lights of the tow vehicle or a converter adapter should be used to go from a flat 5 to a round 7 plug.
