Triton Trailer Gas Shock Replacement, January Featured Products And More!

From The Mailbag...

Here at HannaRV.com, we answered a question this past week which may be of some assistance to other Triton snowmobile trailer owners. The owner of a 2001 Triton XT10 covered snowmobile trailer was in need of replacing the gas shocks which hold the aluminum cover open as his had worn out over time, and he was unsure of exactly which gas shocks to buy.

As you may or may not know, the Triton XT covered snowmobile trailers that were built in the years 2000-2001 have a Z-shaped prop arm which requires 2 gas shocks for opening and closing the cover. All Triton XT covered snowmobile trailers from 2002-present have the standard single prop arm.

The Triton Z-shaped prop arm requires two shocks.  The upper portion of the Z-arm is operated by the Triton #07781 gas shock, which provides a maximum 420 lbs. of lift capacity.  The lower portion of the Z-arm is operated by the Triton #08266 gas shock, which provides a maximum of 1,200 lbs. of lift capacity.  When installed correctly, these two gas shocks working in tandem provide the lift and hold strength necessary for the opening and closing of the trailer cover.

The standard Triton single prop arm installed on the newer Triton XT covered snowmobile trailers utilizes different gas shocks based on the length of the trailer. For example, the 10-foot Triton XT trailers require a Triton #08152 gas shock for replacement and the 12-foot Triton XT trailers require a Triton #08417 replacement gas shock.

We hope that you find this information helpful in keeping your Triton snowmobile trailer functioning properly with Triton brand replacement parts.
