Triton Trailer Lube Maintenance, Forest River Water Filters And Our Big Spring Event!

As some of you may know, a few months back we received notice from Triton Trailers that they were discontinuing the Triton 10438 Reliable Oil Bath Cap, which is no longer available from Triton. Triton has discontinued making trailers with an oil bath lubrication system and will no longer carry replacement parts for that type of hub lube system. They now recommend that you switch from the outdated oil bath lubrication system to the standard Reliable Sure Lube grease system. HannaRV.com offers the following kit with the necessary parts to switch over to the standard grease system: Triton 08288 and 07994 Grease System Conversion Pack. The kit contains all the correct seals, new bearings and hubs to complete the changeover on both sides of your trailer.
The Triton 08288 hubs can be purchased separately by special order, but are included at a discount as part of this conversion kit. The Triton 07994-P Genuine Triton Parts 1-1/16-inch Bearing Kit is an all in one kit for Triton trailer bearing replacement. It includes: (4) 1-1/16-inch bearings (L44649) with bearing cones, (2) rubber plug grease caps, (2) seals, (2) tang washers, (2) grease caps, (2) Sure Lube grease caps, (2) spindle cotter pins, and (1) tube of Triton Elite Lube Bearing Grease.
Elite Lube is a high temperature polymer designed for high oxidation and water resistance. It seals out grit, dirt and water while providing outstanding lubricating performance ensuring extended service life of critical components. Axle manufacturers recommend grease lubrication at least once every 1000 miles or 3 months of use. Several factors like temperature, loads, and speeds while hauling are all variables in grease breakdown and wear. Inspection of grease condition and/or lack of grease before and after long trips is a nice way to keep track of the grease.
